5/22/09: Logs stacked in the forest await their destinations. Some will be sold for building material, others as firewood. Many will stay on the Homestead, especially since these are very small. The thinned area will be planted with high wood-value trees, as well as edibles. The focus isn't on natives, but on plants appropriate for the region. This isn't new: we're just now understanding that much of the Amazon rainforest was tended in the same way before the native groups were nearly obliterated.
