6/13/09: We hiked out to do some back country camping, but didn't have much luck. I climbed to a peak to get the lay of the land and saw a little flat patch (in the center, a little to the right), but we couldn't figure out how to get there safely. The low ground wasn't an option, due to scars that marked it as a flash-flooding area. As if to punctuate that, a thunderstorm started rolling ponderously in.
