126 Bird species - Our goal was one a day for the trip, so I think we’re doing ok so far.
We’ve gone to see Watchmen…twice. Once in FL and once at a drive-in in New Mexico. It’s almost better the second time, except I still didn’t see where Mick Jagger was supposed to be.
We’ve been over 10,000 ft up and 750 ft down and our ears still be poppin’.

Injuries
John had a fight with a concrete picnic table and his pinkie lost.
I got winded several times while hiking up gently sloping inclines.
I’m pretty sure I got chiggers in Big Cypress.
My stomach felt upset at Grand Canyon.
John scraped his right shin while falling through snow pack in a hidden canyon.
Neither of us have confirmed, possible, or imaginary cases of H1N1. We don’t believe in calling it swine flu, that’s just speciest.
So many experiments!
One traveling visitor, Luke, who rode with us from Taos to Denver. It was great to share the Great Sand Dunes and musical tastes with him.
More blogs and more galleries.
Someone took a picture of our license plate in UT. We were so exotic being from Maryland.
My new favorite song is My Life Would Suck Without You, by Kelly Clarkson. Embarrassed but not ashamed. My new superpower is summoning her to be on the radio whenever I want. Ask John or Luke, I have witnesses.
Accomodations
Treehouse, motel, campsite, real beds in real houses, real floor in real living room, and a snowmansion.
Snow, rain, sleet, drydrydry, hothothot, perfect, blue, gray, windy, cold, and consistently 55 degrees (underground).
Sunset at the Grand Canyon. Waking up with the sun even when I don’t want to.
One close call with the gas tank on empty in UT.
I want to see Wolverine, but I hear it stinks. What should I do?
Every time we have seen the Rio Grande, it has been beautiful.
It all comes back to politics and design.
More than half of the country and about 2 and half more months left.
Tomorrow, to San Diego!
